26-10-06 + 29-10-06 + 05-11-06 + 12-11-06

Okay I know I've been a bit lazy updating this but hey, I'm doing it now so you get four training sessions in one entry! Lucky people. :]

26-10-06
Well, this was to be the first ever training session with Soapy since he joined the team.
Bloo InMo and Soapy all met at Bloo's house early in the morning and had left on their way to William Austin By 10:00. Upon arrival we began a quick warm up, consisting of a short jog and some stretching, before beginning some basic tree climbing exercises and laches on the branches. We experimented here with various ways of getting in/out of the trees finding the quickest and most effective ways, then trying to link them with obstacles on the ground. A few things were filmed here, but mainly it comprised of some training and general laughs.

We then moved on to Wardown Park, which was pretty much packed with young kids, so training was very limited, none the less Soapy very nearly managed probably the furthest possible precision on the mushroom groups. Due to the many young children it wasn't possible to train here long so we moved on to the neighboring estate where we trained various catpass-precision exercises and training various movement linking.

After grabbing something to eat and moving round various training locations it was evident that none of us were performing to our full potential and without wanting to over do it before Sunday's training the session quickly turned into a much more casual session full of laughs as well as some training. By the end of the day we were all knackered but in very good moods from a very humorous day...video to follow.

The Worldwide Jam workshop in Lincoln
After looking forward to this day all week; Bloo InMo and Soapy met at Bloo's house again ready to be taken to Lincoln by Bloo's parents [thanks Mum and Mark ^_^]. The session was to be run by Worldwide Jam with members of the street team coaching it. Various conversations were had on the journey over along with some...psyche up games of yellow car, mini and beetle and the urgh game, Soapy pretty drastically lost.
Upon arrival we went for a warm up jog outside and trained some various techniques before heading into the sports centre. Once in the hall we were greeted by an array of obstacles being jumped upon by various sweaty traceurs still hanging around from the earlier session. Once everyone had arrived and the people from the previous session had left, we began.
The session started with a very thorough and vigorous warm up, led by Prozac [a sports scientist]. Despite the warm up, one of Bloo's quad became very tight during the session which restricted him quite a bit but didn't stop him training!
After that the group was split in two, with half being tutored by Danny Illabaca and Binary and the other half by Brad and Prozac. Danny showed the benefits of obstacle interaction by showing us alternate routes through an obstacle with us finding new movements over and over. This was very inspiring to see and hear him talking and Danny Inspired Movement Training [DIMT - as named by bloo] is something that will definitely be incorporated into our regular training. Binary and Danny then took us through precision technique, showing the benefits of adjusting your technique depending on the situation to maximise distance and minimise energy loss.
When the group switched, Brad started with some basic vault training with emphasis on linking the techniques as well as fast clean execution. Prozac then took over, taking it to the next level with some diving vaults, vault-precision practise and linking the two. This was followed by mulitple obstacle training; moving over three obstacles, one after the other, using the best techniques for the situation and moving with minimal hesitation and steps inbetween techniques.
The end of the session was allocated for a free session, not structured just doing what you wished onto he various obstacles. All in all, all the enigma guys have GREATLY benefited from this workshop and will be upping their training to the next level in future sessions.

05-11-06
Having been greatly inspired all week by last weekend's parkour workshop, Bloo and InMo were eager to get into some serious training. Starting at 10:00 training began at William Austin as usual.
We began with some basic tree work for some light warmup, followed by a short jog and some stretching. Then, as inspired by the workshop, Bloo began some quadrupedal movement on the kiddies assault course type thing that is set up in the playground. As it has varying heights this proved very beneficial and a good warmup/workout, it was also very challenging. We then moved onto some more serious tree work before moving onto town.
Upon arrival we got some nice healthy lunch and then moved onto a new spot that Bloo had recently spotted, some nice scaffolding. This was very nice, with varying distances and heights causing us to put more awareness into controlling landings and keeping tucked. As well as standard laches, we also practiced some lache to armjumps.
furthest lache distance: Bloo - 7'4"
We then moved on to look for another spot that Bloo had seen whilst driving, but on the way we found a nice spot with some good balance and discipline work. after training here for a while we explored the area before returning to the main part of town to continue some regular training.

12-11-06
As we were at a party the night before this session started a bit later, at half 11 and also had to finish earlier due to Commitments at 2:00. Bloo InMo and also Colexus started as usual at William Austin. This time Bloo and InMo put more focus on quadrupedal movement, Bloo managed to complete the length of the kiddies assault course quad style, Colexus however decided he wouldn't listen to Bloo about the benefits of quadrupedal movement so walked the length of the course...which isn't even much of a challenge for the kids...ah well, his loss. We then continued with some DIMT on and around separate parts of the course before moving onto some tree work. As well as that we experimented with various control and strength exercises.
We moved onto town and got something to eat before wandering to the new scaffolding...Only to find it had gone! :O :(. not a happy time. With the scaffolding gone we moved onto the other new spot we found last week and did some training there before Bloo went on a little adventure, over a wall and around an air conditioning unit, involving various climbs, quad movement and vaults. InMo the joined him and they went further around before finding an alternative way out and rejoining colexus. All three then went further around, climbed into the carpark and then searched for a way out, which turned out to involve edging around a ledge around a wall as the drop below was too high to drop.
Once we returned to our original location we wandered back down into town to a place that we spotted on our way up to the carpark spot. This was a pretty nice spot too with a nice tree to link in with some jumps, also a nice precision which Bloo didn't bring himself to make but InMo made but didn't stick. One to try for next week.
